Anne’s father disapproves of her relationship with Peter. Anne takes Margot’s advice and decides to write a detailed letter to her dad, expressing her thoughts and feelings. In the letter she mentions that she has struggled immensely and can now live without being answerable to anyone. This letter however upsets her dad and Anne later feels guilty for her rude approach. She is ashamed of herself. She feels like she has lost the trust and good faith that her parents had in her. Her pride is hurt, and she feels like she still has a lot to learn.
