Attempt any five of the following subquestions:

Find the values of a,b,c for the quadratic equation 2x2 = x + 3 by comparing with standard from ax2 + bx + c = 0.

To compare the two forms, we first bring our equation into standard form as:

2x2 = x + 3


On rearranging the terms, we get,


2x2 - x - 3 = 0


Comparing with ax2 + bx + c = 0, We get


a = 2, b = - 1 , c = - 3.
