Write the equation of X - axis. Hence, find the point of intersection of the graph of the equation x + y = 5 with X - axis.

The equation for X - axis is simply, y = 0.

The point of intersection of x + y = 5 and X - axis can be found by putting y = 0 in the equation as


x + 0 = 5


⇒x = 5


Therefore the point of intersection is (5,0).
