a1 = 5, a4 = 9, find a2, a3

Given that a1 = 5 & a4 = 9.5

a4 = a1 + (4-1)d


9.5 = a1 + 3d


Substituting a1 in above equation


9.5 = 5 + 3d


4.5 = 3d


d = 1.5


now, a2 = a1 + (2-1)d


= 5 + 1.5


= 6.5


a3 = a1 + (3-1)d


= 5 + 2× 1.5


= 8
