Volume of a solid cylinder is 62.37 cu.cm. Find the radius if its height is 4.5 cm.

GIVEN : radius of solid cylinder = “r”

height of solid cylinder “h” = 4.5cm

volume of the cylinder “V” = 62.37cm2

we take π =

TO FIND : radius of a solid cylinder = ?

PROCEDURE :

As we know, that

Volume of a cylinder “V” = π r2h

So we now put the values of V and h in the above formula

So we get, 62.37 = π ×(r)2×(4.5)

= π ×(r)2

13.86 = ×(r)2

r2 = = × 7 = 0.63 × 7 = 4.41cm2

r = √ 4.41 = 2.1cm

radius of the given cylinder = 2.1cm.
