If the total surface area a solid right circular cylinder is 200 πcm2and its radius is 5 cm, then the sum of its height and radius is

Total Surface Area = 2πrh + 2πr2


where r is the radius and h is the height


Total Surface Area = 200π cm2 (Given)


Radius (r) = 5 cm


Equating the Total Surface Area we can say


2πrh + 2πr2 = 200π


⇒ rh + r2 = 100


⇒ r(r + h) = 100


⇒ r + h = 20 cm
