Q5 of 79 Page 244

Using clay, a student made a right circular cone of height 48 cm and base radius 12 cm. Another student reshapes it in the form of a sphere. Find the radius of the sphere.

Given, height of cone(h) = 48 cm

Base radius(r) = 12 cm

Volume of cone = r2h

= 121248

= 2304

We know,

Volume of sphere = r3

To find radius of sphere,

r3 = 2304

⇒ r3 = 2304

⇒ r3 = 5763

⇒ r3 = 1728

⇒ r = 12 cm

Radius of the sphere is 12 cm.
