Find the zeros of the following quadratic polynomials:

p(x) = 4x2 + 9x + 5

Here p(x) = 4x2 + 9x + 5


To find the zeros of p(x), let p(x) = 0


∴4x2 + 9x + 5 = 0


∴4x2 + 4x + 5x + 5 = 0


∴4x(x + 1) + 5(x + 1) = 0


∴ (x + 1)(4x + 5) = 0
∴ x = –1 or x = –


⇒ 1 and – are the zeros of the quadratic polynomial p(x).
