Find the zeros of the following quadratic polynomials:

p(x) = x2 — x — 6

Here p(x) = x2 — x — 6


To find the zeros of p(x), let p(x) = 0


∴ x2 — x — 6 = 0


∴ x2 — 3x + 2x — 6 = 0


∴ x(x – 3) + 2 (x – 3) = 0


∴ (x – 3) (x + 2) = 0


∴ x = 3 or x = –2


3 and –2 are the zeros of the quadratic polynomial p(x).
