Mawsynram in Meghalaya receives an average rainfall of 467.4 cm. It is one of the wettest places of the earth. Mawsynram is located at 25° 18′ N, 91° 35′ E, at an altitude of about 1,400 m, 15 km west of Cherrapunji, in the Khasi Hills in the Indian state of Meghalaya.

Jaisalmer in Rajasthan receives an average rainfall of 17 cm. It is a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, located 575 km west of the state capital Jaipur. Once known as Jaisalmer state, it is a World Heritage Site.
