What was ‘Operation Blue Star’? Why did it hurts the sentiments of the Sikh Community?

Under the leadership of P.M Indira Gandhi in June 1984 carried out an army operation with code name ‘Operation Blue Star’.

This operation was carried out to over throw the militants who had entered in the Golden Temple. During this operation historical temple was damaged. Sikh community in India and abroad saw the military operation as an attack on their faith. That’s why it hurts the sentiments of the Sikh community.
