Q1 of 30 Page 26

Answer the questions briefly:

What reminiscences does the hum of insects bring to the author?

The author describes that the hum of insects not only brings infinite joy and peace, but also brings back a lot of memories. Firstly, these pleasant sounds seem reminiscent of the previous springs and summers of our lives, which we have spent in different gardens, in peace and joy. Secondly, they bring along with them the blissful memories of the innocent childhood days when life was confined to a garden of carefreeness and freedom from worries.

The hum of insects brings afresh the pictures of garden paths edged with box, apple trees and old wooden seats, the sounds of musical notes and the smell of fresh roses. The soothing sounds take us all back the days when only the present was real – the future wasn’t real and the past wasn’t cared about.
