Explain the comparison that Einstein makes between knowledge regarding human affairs and a marble statue standing in the desert.

Einstein believes that the knowledge must be continuously renewed by some efforts else it will be lost and will not remain as it is. As he states that a statue of marble which stands in the desert and is continuously threatened with burial by the shifting sand in the same way if the knowledge is not updated or renewed by more learning, it will be lost and whatever is left will be wasted.
