Q2 of 21 Page 43

Read the extracts and answer the questions that follow:

"Therefore, one should guard against preaching to the young man success in the customary sense as the aim of life" (para 10). What is 'success' here in the customary sense? Who, according to Einstein, is a truly successful person?

Success here in the customary sense refers to ambition and great doings of a man. The aim of life of a person should not be attaining the success of any possessions. The aim should be serving help and provide favourableness to the people and the nation. According to Einstein, a truly successful man is the one who receives a great deal from his fellow-men, usually incomparably more than corresponds to his service to them. The value of a man, however, should be seen in what he gives and not in what he able to receive.
