Justify how India is a secular country.

India is a secular country. In our country, people follow the religions they wish. There are many religions in India like Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism etc.,


a. There is no official religion in India.


b. India does not confer any privilege or favour on any particular religion.


c. No one is punished or discriminated in the name of the religion or caste he/she follows.


d. Indian secularism is aimed at maintaining a principled and equal distances from all religions.


e. The country is neutral and impartial in dealing with all religions.


f. Government cannot compel any person to pay any taxes for promotion or maintenance of any particular religion or religious institution.


Hence, people belonging to all religions live in India with peace and harmony.
