Describe the main features of ‘Right to Equality’.

Right to Equality is one of the fundamental rights granted by our Indian constitution. Right of Equality means that all the citizens of the country are equal in the eyes of law. The same law is applicable to everybody irrespective of their social, economic and political status.


The Government shall not discriminate any citizen on the basis of caste, creed, religion and sex, ethnicity or place of birth. Equality further implies that giving everyone an equal opportunity to achieve whatever one is capable of.
