Give two examples for each food crop and non-food crops.


Food crops are those crops that are grown for the purpose of consumption by humans. A few examples of food crops are paddy, maize and ragi.


Non-food crops are those crops that are grown for the purpose of sale rather than consumption by humans and are used as a source for generating profits. They are also known as ‘cash crops’. A few examples of non-food crops are coconut, jute and tea.
