Why are cattle and goats not seen browsing on Calotropis growing in the fields?

Herbivores are the predators for plants. The problem is particularly severe for plants as they can’t run away from their predators. Plants have therefore evolved chemical and morphological defence. Calotropis has chemical defence against predators. They produce highly poisonous cardiac glycosides.

Hence, cattle and goats are not seen browsing on Calotropis growing in the fields.
