Why is the thermostable Taq polymerase enzyme essential in carrying out polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and not DNA polymerase?

Taq polymerase is thermostable DNA polymerase and is extracted from thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus. Taq polymerase is used instead of DNA polymerase because it is active even at high temperature used to denature DNA strands.
