Mention the different ways by which active immunity can be induced in the human body.

Different ways by which active immunity can be induced are:-

a) Natural active immunity: It is caused either by subclinical or by clinical infection. e.g a person infected from polio virus or by measles or mumps.

b) Artificial Active Immunity: It is the resistance gained by body for an organism / disease by vaccination.

e.g. a) Live BCG vaccine for tuberculosis

b) Killed TAB vaccine for enteric fever.

c) Live Salk’s vaccine for Polio.

d) Bacterial toxoid for DPT.
