Q29 of 47 Page 1

A train covers a distance of 300 km at a uniform speed. If the speed of the train is increased by 5 km/hour, it takes 2 hours less in the journey. Find the original speed of the train.

Let speed of train be x km/hour

Let time taken to cover 300 km be t

New speed is (x+5) km/hour

New time

But speed can’t be negative.

Therefore x = 25 km/hour

Conclusion: Therefore, constant speed is 25 km/hour
