Large scale dairy farming is the result of the development of transportation and refrigeration due to the following reasons:

a. In dairy farming, milch animals are reared at a large scale.


b. The products of dairy such as milk and other related products are perishable. They cannot be utilized and used efficiently if there is no proper facility for transportation and refrigeration.


c. Nowadays, many methods of preservation are developed, such as transportation, refrigeration, pasteurization, etc which has led to large scale dairy farming.


d. The demand for dairy products is high in urban and industrial areas.


e. The new methods of preservation have increased the duration of storage of dairy products.
