Commercial livestock rearing system in which animals are reared on extensive grasslands with modern scientific methods. It fulfils the demand for milk, meat, and wool. The animal's products are traded at a national and international level to earn money.

The characteristics of commercial livestock rearing are:

a. Commercial livestock rearing is an organized activity on permanent ranches. The ranches are large in size and divided into small parcels that are fenced to regulate the grazing.

b. It is more organized and capital intensive.

c. Only one type of animal is reared, such as horses, goats, and sheep.

d. They produce skin, meat, and wool. These products are packed and exported to different parts of the world.

e. It is scientifically managed, and a huge focus is laid on breeding, genetic improvement, disease control and health care of the livestock.

f. It is mainly practiced in the USA, Argentina, New Zealand, and Uruguay.
