Paints have various constituents in it that include the primary pigment which imparts the color of the paint, solvent either organic or water based, binder (resin) – a matrix used to provide support structure and hold the pigment along with the solvent. As the important composition and its properties are based on the pigment used which is generally a solid which is immersed in a solvent that necessitates the ease of application of the paint on the surface. Thus, in paints the dispersed phase is pigment i.e. solid and dispersion medium is a liquid.
