Q35 of 97 Page 780

The parallel sides of a trapezium are 12 cm and 9 cm and the distance between them is 8 cm. Find the area of the trapezium.

Given:

Side 1 = 12 cm

Side 2 = 9 cm

Distance between sides = 8 cm

Now,

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × Sum of parallel sides × Distance between them

= 1/2 × (12 + 9) × 8

= 1/2 × 21 × 8

= 84 cm2
