Write a story in about 150-200 words beginning with the following:

You are sitting with your friends on a log near a stream. One of your friends looks up at the sky and says ______

“Look! That is Venus, the evening star.” We all looked up. The sky was a vast dark curtain with thousands of tiny shiny dots as stars. It looked beautiful and mesmerizing. We kept looking as the stream nearby flowed gushingly. Seated on the log, with our face towards the sky, we spoke of our ambitions in life. All of us were engrossed in speaking about our dreams. Anil dreamt of flying a fighter jet in the sky. Tarun wanted to build a gigantic hot air balloon, the world’s largest. I wanted to study astro-physics and work in NASA. All our ambitions were based on the sky, like satellites that revolve around the planets. Suddenly, we spotted a shooting star. Instantly, we closed our eyes and secretly wished for our dreams to come true. Seeing us from the distant, Uncle Ravi smiled.


He came to us and sat on the log. He said that simply wishing and praying will not result in dreams coming true. If we study well and work hard, our dreams will turn into reality. He encouraged us and told us “Reach for the stars, because sky is the limit.”
