Q19 of 34 Page 1

Find the number of spherical lead shots, each of diameter 6 cm that can be made from a solid cuboid of lead having dimensions 24 cm × 22 cm × 12 cm.

Volume of cuboid = lbh where, l = length, b = breadth and h = height

For cuboidal lead ;

Length, l = 24 cm

Breadth, b = 22 cm

Height, h = 12 cm

Volume of lead = 24(22)(12) = 6336 cm3

For spherical shots,

Diameter = 6 cm

Radius, r = 3 cm

Now,

So, 168 bullets can be made from lead.
