Factorizing n2/2 + n/2, by simply taking out common variables and constants.

n2/2 + n/2 = n2×1/2 + n×1/2


⇒ n2/2 + n/2 = 1/2 (n×n + n) = 1/2 n (n + 1)


⇒ 1/2, n and (n + 1) are factors of n2/2 + n/2.


Hence, the statement is true.
