(9x – 51) ÷ 9 is x – 51.

Solving (9x – 51) ÷ 9,

(9x – 51) ÷ 9 = (9x – 51)/9


9 divides the term 9x but does not divide 51.


So, the answer comes out to be (9x – 51)/9.


(9x – 51)/9 ≠ x – 51


Hence, the statement is false.
