How much of the cultivated land is irrigated?

The land is cultivated to grow crops.

1. Cultivation requires proper irrigation for better yields.

2. But in India a little less then forty (40%) of the land is irrigated even today.

3. Coastal regions are well-irrigated.

4. Plateau regions like Deccan are less irrigated.

5. But most of the other areas depend on rainfall.
