What factors have led to the reduction of water level in Palampur?

Palampur is a developed agricultural village. However, the groundwater level is reduced due to the following factors:

1. The modern methods of farming are practised here. Irrigation of lands is mainly done through tube wells.

2. The continuous and overuse of the groundwater for tube well irrigation has greatly depleted the water level.

It is also necessary to use the water wisely as it is very difficult to restore once it is destroyed.
