How long will a train 120m long take to clear a platform 130 m long if its speed is 50 km/hr?

Given:


Length of the train = 120 m


Length of Platform = 130m


Speed of Train = 50 km/hr


∴ Distance travelled = length of the train + length of the platform


120 + 130 = 250m


Since platform size also comes in picture.


Since, the speed = 50 km/hr


(∵ 1Km = 1000m)



1hr = 3600 sec



∴ The train requires 18 sec to clear the platform.
