The compound ratio of 3:4 and the inverse ratio of 4:5 is 45:x. Find x.

Given: Two ratios 3:4 and 4:5


Now Inverse ratio of 4:5 is 5:4


Compound Ratio of 3:4 and 5:4 would be then


3 x 5 : 4 x 4(∵ Compound ratio of a:b and c:d is ac:bd)


15 : 16


Given ratio is 45:x



∴ x = 48.
