Describe any three problems of road transport in the world.

Road transport is a part of land transport. Roadways are economical and faster for travelling short distances. It also makes door to door services possible. But there are certain problems with road transport.


1. During heavy rains and floods, even the metalled roads become seriously handicapped and are not effective and serviceable.


2. The construction and maintenance of roads incur huge expenditure.


3. Due to the manifold increase in traffic, roads suffer chronic congestion. It becomes very difficult to manage this situation as the roads are flooded with all kinds of vehicles.


The quality of the road differs from one country to another depending on the capital invested and the nature of the landform.
