What is biofortification? Mention the contribution of Indian Agricultural Research Institute towards it with the help of any two examples

Biofortification means is a type of breeding crops with higher levels of vitamins and minerals, or higher protein and healthier fats. This is done in order to improve public health.

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has many contributions using biofortification. The IARI has released many vegetable crops which are rich in vitamins and minerals, e.g., vitamin enriched carrots; vitamin C enriched bitter gourd; iron and calcium enriched spinach, and protein enriched beans, etc.
