Why is the use of A.C. voltage preferred over D.C. voltage? Give two reasons.

The use of AC is preferred over DC voltage because: -


1. AC voltages can be easily stepped- down or stepped-up by using transformers which is not possible in DC voltages.


2. The transmission of AC power can done without much power loss in heating as compared to the DC voltages.
