Write the functions of the following in communication systems:

(i) Transducer


(ii) Repeater

i) The Function of a transducer is to convert the input signal into electric from, so as it feed the electrical signal into a transmitter before transmission. The input signal can be of any form, sound or pressure variation, mechanical vibrations, etc,.


ii) The function of a repeater is to receive the signal from the transmitter, amplify it and retransmit it to the receiver. Repeaters are used to extend the range of a communication system.
