Q12 of 30 Page 1

Write the full form of VNTR. How is VNTR different from ‘Probe’?

The full form of VNTR is Variable Number Tandem Repeats.

VNTR is a short nucleotide sequence in a DNA, is located as tandem repeats at that location in the DNA. It is already located in a DNA and is of variable length.

Whereas, a probe is inserted in the DNA to locate a particular sequence of genes in the DNA and highlight it.
