Name the genus to which baculoviruses belong. Describe their role in the integrated pest management programmes.

Nucleopolyhedrovirus is the genus of Baculovirus used in Integrated Pest Management.

Baculoviruses are incorporated in plants via r-DNA technology . They secrete toxins which on ingestion by arthropods or nematods cause adverse effects leading to death of the insect/pest.
