(a) Corpus callosum


(b) Central canal

(a) Location: Corpus callosum is a part of the Forebrain.


Function: It connects the two cerebral hemispheres and transmits information from one hemisphere to another.


(b) Location: The central canal is located in the center of the spinal cord and is also in continuation with the cavities of the brain.


Function: The cerebrospinal fluid present in the central canal acts as a shockproof cushion. The central canal also helps in the transfer of materials between neurons.
