Describe any three ways in which individual with a particular trait may increase in population.

The various ways through which an individual with a particular trait can increase the population are as follows:

(i)Through Geographical isolation method which can be done by the use of various barriers such as mountains, rivers etc. It helps in reproductive isolation and thus promoting the growth of a particular trait in an individual.

(ii) Adoption of ‘Survival of the fittest’. When a population struggles for survival, it helps in elimination of the unfit individuals and thus helps in growing of a particular trait.

(iii)Genetic drift can also be responsible for the growth of a particular trait within the population. Genetic drift is caused by the change in the frequencies of a particular gene.
