Suggest two practices giving one example of each that help protect rare or threatened species.

i. Threatened animals and plants may be protected by taking them out from their natural habitat and placed in special setting giving special care. This is called ex situ conservation.


ii. The plants such as tissues, embryo, sperms and eggs can be preserved at –196oC (cryopreservation) for long period in gene banks, seed banks etc.
