Subject: To call attention to the misuse of computers in offices.

Sir,

I, Vineeta, resident of Suryanagar, Ghaziabad, have written this letter to you to grab your attention to the alerting fact that the computers installed in the offices for the quick remittal of work are being misused in playing games and in other activities. My recent visit to a nearby government office brought me to face the insensible attitude of the employees who are exploiting the devices to mail personal messages. In another desk, I saw another middle aged employee rejoicing and shouting loudly with unabashed laughter while playing computer games. Their utter lack of seriousness in the whole process not only hampers the working of the offices in the busy schedules of the day but also decreases the efficiency of transaction by distracting their neighboring colleagues. I believe the government should monitor the process by installing software that would signal the authorities if the devices are used for personal causes. The office authorities should also cooperate by introducing surveillance systems to catch people red-handed.

I shall be highly obliged to you if you publish this in your daily column to highlight this issue to the higher officials in a graver note. I shall be looking forward to your response.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Vineeta.

Once a carpenter went looking for a job He approached a building contractor and got a job at a decent salary and good working conditions. The carpenter was thrilled and determined to do his best. His boss provided him with tools and showed him the place where he was supposed to work.

At the end of the first day, the carpenter prepared fifteen doors. His boss was happy with his performance and congratulated him. The carpenter tried harder the. next day but he was able to prepare only 10 doors. The third day be tried even harder, but he could prepare only seven. Day after day he was preparing less and less doors.

"I must be losing my strength," the carpenter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. ''When was the last time when you sharpened your tools?" the boss asked. "Sharpen! I had no time to sharpen my tools. I have been busy trying to prepare doors," said the carpenter.
