In what three ways did the collapse of the Soviet Union affect the world politics? Explain.

Effect of collapse of Soviet Union:

1. It meant the end of Cold War confrontations:-This end meant end of arms race and possible new peace.


2. The power relations in world politics changed: The end of the Cold War left open only two possibilities: either the remaining superpower would dominate and create a unipolar system, or different countries or groups of countries could become important players in the international system.


3. Emergence of many new countries: This led to emergence of national aspirations of these countries.
