Q1 of 23 Page 1

Solve of the following sub question:

If 3x + 2y = 10 and 2x + 3y = 15, then find the value of x + y.

Given: 3x + 2y = 10 …(i)

2x + 3y = 15 …(ii)

Add equation (i) and (ii)

3x + 2y + 2x + 3y = 10 + 15

Rearranging terms

3x + 2x + 2y + 3y = 25

5x + 5y = 25

5 × (x + y) = 25

x + y =

x + y = 5
