Solve of the following sub question:

Find the value of a, b, c in the following quadratic equation: 2x2 + 18 = 6x.

Given: 2x2 + 18 = 6x


⇒ 2x2 + 18 – 6x = 0


Rearranging to get


2x2 – 6x + 18 = 0 …(i)


Compare equation (i) with ax2 + bx + c = 0 we get


a = 2, b = -6 and c = 18
