The sequence – 10, – 6, – 2, 2, . . .

First term a = – 10


Second term t1 = – 6


Third term t2 = – 2


Fourth term t3 = 2


Common difference d = t1 – a = – 6 – ( – 10) = – 6 + 10 = 4


Common difference d = t2 – t1 = – 2 – ( – 6) = – 2 + 6 = 4


Common difference d = t3 – t2 = 2 – ( – 2) = 2 + 2 = 4


Since, the common difference is same


∴ The given sequence is A.P. with common difference d = 4
