In the given term


Dividend = 48a3 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × a × a × a


Divisor = 6a = 2 × 3 × a



= 2 × 2 × 2 × a × a


= 8a2


Hence dividing 48a3 by 6a gives 8a2
