Given equation can be simplified as,


= (b)2 – (2)2


It is of the form (p)2 – (q)2
where p = b and q = 2
using the identity (p)2 – (q)2 = (p + q)(p – q)


We get,
b2 – 22 = (b + 2)(b – 2)
b2 – 4 = (b + 2)(b – 2)
