Find the solution of the system of equations


The two equations become



⇒p - 2q = - 1


⇒p = 2q - 1 …equation (i)



⇒2p + q = 16 …..equation(ii)


Putting the value of p from equation (i) in the equation(ii) we get


2(2q - 1) + q = 16


⇒ 4q - 2 + q = 16


⇒5q = 18
